Germany has two other Schwebebahns, a historic inclined one in the outskirts of Dresden and a more recent one at Dusseldorf Airport where it is known as the SkyTrain.

That’s really cool - I added these two to my bucket list!

I've been on the Düsseldorf airport one many times. It connects the terminals to the mainline railway station. Ticketwise, it's part of the Dusseldorf local transport network. I've only been on the Dresden one once. It's in the suburb of Loschwitz by the river Elbe. Separate tickets are needed for this one

Good to know, thanks for sharing, Stuart! I have a soft spot for historic railways, especially scenic ones such as Dresden Suspended Incline.

Arguably your best Beyond The Rails post to date!

There is also another overhead suspended monorail in Goa, India called the Skybus.

Monorail is a mode/technology that is far too under-reported on, in my opinion.

That you took the time to ride Japan’s Shonan Monorail and then provide all of the particulars in coverage and reporting of as you have done, all I can say is Kudos and well done, indeed!

Thanks Alan! After such nice feedback from you, it’s hard not to keep writing! 😉 I also rode the Chiba Monorail near Tokyo, I’ll cover it one day too.
